Find out the right way to make your complexion glow whether you have oily, dry, or combination skin.

With all the talk of dry, combination, and oily skin types, it seems you are supposed to just know what skin type you have. Your skin care regimen, choice of cosmetics and even your sunscreen depends on knowing your skin type.

Here’s a little home-test you can do to help you find out what kind of skin type you have.

  • Use paper napkins or tissue paper to determine type of skin.
  • First thing in the morning before washing your face, rub separate strips gently across your forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. Slide the tissues back and forth.
  • The strips will either remain clean and transparent or gain greasiness and stains.
  • If all the strips used are greasy; contain large stains including the one used on cheeks; then the skin is extremely oily.
  • If the strips used on forehead, nose and chin are greasy, whereas the strips used on cheeks are clean, then you have a combination skin.
  • If all the strips are clean and transparent, then you have dry skin.
